Aggiornamento sul PBEM a War in the East: fine del Blizzard

Dopo parecchi turni ho deciso di terminare con un paio di settimane di anticipo l'offensiva del blizzard 1942-1943: non sono riuscito a sfondare il suo fronte, o meglio, è riuscito a tappare tutti i buchi. L'ho costretto ad impegnare tutte le riserve ed ha avuto parecchie perdite, ma anch'io per una mia distrazione ho perso parecchie truppe corazzate\meccanizzate. Adesso sto ricostruendo le forze in modo più organico approfittando di ben due mesi di fango di fronte a me.

PBEM a Flashpoint Campaigns

Cominciato un PBEM a Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm; il mio avversaio ha settato un livello di realismo basso, ma si tratta d una prova e quindi non mi importa molto. Prime impressioni: importantissimo specialmente contro gli elicotteri, il LOS: non capivo perchè la mi contraerea non sparasse contro i nemici, li vicino, poi ho capito che erano fuori loss per i rilievi del terreno. Gli elicotteri fanno male, molto male, mentre il tempo meteorologico influenza grandemente l'uso degli aerei.

Recensione: Il Teutone: La setta dei Mantelli Neri

Ho letto l'ultimissimo romanzo della saga del Teutone di Guido Cervo:  La setta dei Mantelli Neri. Si tratta del terzo titolo, e mentre se il primo aveva come sfondo l'invasione mongola e il secondo lo scontro contro Novgorod, quest'ultimo tratta della rivolta dei popoli pruteni soggetti all'ordine teutonico. Come i precedenti è un ottimo romanzo storico: non solo i personaggi, in buona già presenti nei romanzi precedenti, sono ben delineati ma il background storico è preciso e dettagliato così come i dati geografici. Grosso modo il romanzo si compone di tre "sotto-saghe", collegate ma che tratteggiano situazioni e personaggi differenti, che potrei chiamare (senza scoprire troppo della trama): la fuga, l'assedio, l'isola.

Un'ottima lettura che non lascerà delusi soprattutto gli appassionati dei Cavalieri Teutonici, soprattutto per il piacere che l'autore mette nel tratteggiare anche i piccoli dettagli.

Altra breve partita a Flashpoint Campaigns

Ieri ho fatto un'altro breve scenario con Red Storm. A chi fosse piaciuto il primo, lo consiglio perchè lo ricalca fedelmente ma migliorandolo. Adesso ho pensato di buttarmi subito nel multi, vista la presenza del PBEM++, per verificarne le potenzialità.

Alea Jacta Est nuova patch e rilasciato Parthian Wars

Oggi è stata rilasciata la nuova patch per Alea Jacta Est assieme alla nuova dlc Parthian Wars che propone 5 nuovi scenari con ambientazione le guerre romano-partiche.

Ecco il change log:

We are releasing the v.1.03a Update for Alea Jacta Est and Birth of Rome. The v.1.03a Update fixes some Database and Scenario bugs, features a new Exe. and improvements in the gameplay and above all allows compatibility with Parthian Wars.

- Added functionality, SHIFT now shows the region links of the region below the cursor (if no Stack is selected).
- Additional stacks in same region now get the name of their leader in the region tooltip (the 'Also there' lines)
- Movement path is now color coded

and a lot more small fixes

UI

- New faction icons in Unit recruitment mode (thanks, Picaron !)
- Small tweak to assets icons in main screen (EP now are represented by the bolt)

SCENARIOS AND DB FIXES

All scenarios
- Removed cavalry element from "post-Marius" legions
- Changed VP values of Roman cohorts (from 10 to 3) and legatus (from 10 to 20)
- Light Infantry, Skirmisher and Raider models hide value lowered to 2
- Changed Cav detect value to 4 for most models (5 for the expert scout nations)


Marius vs Sulla scenario:
- Fixes to Lucullus Odyssey events: Cyprus and Aegyptus exercitus are no longer unlocked if respective fleets ally with Optimates; correction to percentage of chance of missions in Cyrene (50) and Egypt (10)

The Roman Civil War (Caesar vs Pompey) scenario:
- Lagid armies will be unlocked if Caesar invades Egypt (will prevent later historical chain of options related to Pompey fleeing to Egypt)
- Pompey dilemna message broadcasted
- Fix to consequences of Pompey strategic choice if not chosen by the player
- Small fix to consequences of the "Pompey goes West" choice: loyatly will now be increased by 25 in Hispania and by 10 in Africa
- Fix to double Galatian leader (Kastor)

Septimius Severus scenario
- Small fix to Severus choice consequences if not chosen by the player



Parthian Wars expansion:
- Data (events, options, etc) for all scenarios


NB:
Due to database changes patch 1.03 will not be, in principle, guaranteed compatible with saved games
Also, some changes will not be applied yet to the "old" DLC scenarios (Spartacus and Cantabrian Wars), like the removal of cavalry from legions

Fixes include:
CmdUser console command shows only info allowed by server
Too long loadout bug in mission transfer is fixed
Killed gunner is now reported in the EventLog
